Today I start my first blog post, ever. I’ve never had the thought nor ambition, until now, to begin my pursuit in writing a post. Even more importantly, the thought that maybe my points of view would or could positively affect the community I live in. Whether it be discussing the importance of continuing education, current events and trends, and maybe if I’m lucky, foretelling some future outcomes that will happen in my time within the community. Cough…for those that are reading this, thanks for being my first followers, hopefully!
Education, Training, and Hands-on Experience is Everything
Wow, this guy is talking about education and training…Jeez, this blog is on a company website that provided training and consulting. Why would I want to read on?
You’re pretty far already, you might as well finish…plus, it’s no joke. Education, training, and hands-on experience does enables us to get where we want to go. Oh, and I cannot forget, hard work.
Ok, stop thinking those weird thoughts…education, training, and hands-on experience is paramount to succeeding in the IT and cybersecurity world. Unless you’re some demigod who curated NIST or IETF. I don’t care if you’re academically trained, military trained, or self-taught. You wouldn’t or couldn’t have the experience or knowledge you have today without at least one of these three key things. Nor, I’m likely to bet, in the position you are today.
Education, simply put, you’ve been a part of an educational system for the majority of your life, whether you liked it or not. Education enables us to grasp the fundamental skills, habits, behaviors and beliefs necessary to thrive. Whether that be by reading blogs and articles, conducting personal research, or through and educational institute.
Training, during our entire life, whether we know it or not, we are at some point a trainee. Training comes in a variety of forms. Some of these include technical skills, leadership, management, organizational, soft skills, professional, and technology/tool training. These types of training can be conducted in a variety of settings. To include in person, bootcamp, e-learning, or online with a virtual instructor. Training allows for us to grasp a deeper understanding of skills and refine our habits, whether it be relevant to a current or new skill. Atlas Solutions Plus has that unique edge of having the capability to provide any of these training methods to trainees.
Hands-on experience, this has been a part of our lives since we were born. It’s a form of cognitive behavior derived from education or training done in repetition. Hands-on experience allows for us to master the tasks in front of us. Generally, hands-on experience works best when the individual has an educational background in the subject or is trained in the subject at hand.
A combination of these three things, can and will, make you successful within our community. Oh, and a little bit of hard work. Education enables us to grasp the fundamental skills, habits, behaviors and beliefs. Training allows us to gain a deeper understanding of skills and refine our habits. Finally, hands-on experience allows us to master the tasks in front of us. Let Atlas Solutions Plus help you, your department, and company succeed!
